Oak View Branch Library: Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer at Main Street

Oak View is a low-income Latino community, just blocks from the Central Library. Half the parents in Oak View cannot read or write well in their native language. Fewer than 10 % know how to read in English. They would like to help their children learn to read and succeed, but many of them don't know how. Here's what you can do…

Become a volunteer!

  • General Library Helper
  • Homework Help Tutor
  • Literacy Tutor for Adults
  • Summer Reading Partners Tutor
  • Special Projects Helper
  • Summer Reading Program Volunteer
  • Volunteer Page (shelving and straightening library materials)
  • Chess Club, Fun with Lego and Tabletop Saturdays Helper

Volunteer opportunities are available every day of the week, including Saturdays, with flexible schedules and are a great way to connect, learn something new, have fun, and help someone who needs you! Please contact the library for details at (714) 375-5068. Teen can also learn more about the various volunteer opportunities by visiting the Teen Volunteering LibGuide

You can also fill out an adult volunteer application, or a teen volunteer application, and drop it off at the library.
